John, a much loved character, had operated his café in the now redundant Footscray market for over 40 years. It was his passion and his life. The move to Epping, into a highly sophisticated new facility, was extremely overwhelming for John. The design brief was ensure John’s 40 years of hospitality at Footscray was transposed to Epping. A brand new facility with high end appliances and finishes has been provided – yet it the use of large format printing and old pallets from the Footscray market, that line the walls and counter, are a legacy of Johns past and a great conversation starter.
